Andrew and Lydia are missionaries in Japan with World Out-reach Ministries. They serve at Hope Chapel and are going to be serving at a church plant in Osaka.
Andrew and Lydia have been serving God together in Japan since 2011. Their dynamic ministry includes a church plant, a church in Osaka, a home ministry several times per week and Andrew serves as Principal of Kansai Christian School (KCS).
Highlights of the Past Year:
• KCS Expansion: The school acquired new land to grow its facilities.
• Spiritual Milestones: Multiple student baptisms occurred, with some continuing in faith through church involvement and service. One graduate is planning to join the church and assist with Sunday school.
• Community Impact: Activities such as an all-school campout, Spiritual Life Emphasis Week, and community drama performances enriched the spiritual lives of students and shared the gospel with families.
• External Encouragement: A visiting ACSI representative affirmed the Christ-centered nature of the school and the unity among staff and students.
Challenges Faced:
• Despite many blessings, the Stewards experienced pushback and false rumors in the local community and among parents, reminiscent of past opposition.
• The family, especially the children, have felt the emotional toll of this resistance.
• However, they are encouraged by a unified board and supportive staff at KCS.
Prayer Requests:
• Protection and peace for KCS, its students, and staff
• Wisdom for leadership and discernment in response to opposition
• Continued strength for Andrew in his leadership role
• Safe and fruitful summer travel to the U.S. (June 27–August 11), including a visit to Door County
• Spiritual renewal and physical rest for their family
